Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)

Air Source Heat Pumps are becoming one of the most popular heating solutions in the UK, helping homeowners reduce their carbon footprint while providing efficient heating and hot water all year round.

Unlike traditional fuel burning appliances that produce heat through combustion, a heat pump extracts energy from the outside air and transfers it into your home. Even during very colder weather, modern heat pumps can extract enough heat to keep your house warm and cosy.

At E & W Plumbing & Heating Ltd we know that heat pumps are unfamiliar territory to most people which is why we guide homeowners through every step of the process. We are here to advise our clients on what type of system is going to suit their requirements and guide them through the process from initial enquiry, to heat loss calculations, to design, installation and then ongoing support.

Many people assume a heat pump is simply replacing a boiler with another heating appliance, but the installations can be much more involved. Many installations will require radiator upgrades, additional stored water and larger pipework. An accurate heat loss survey is the best way to determine what your property needs.

Every property is different and achieving the best performance requires careful design and planning. This typically includes a full property assessment, conversations about you and your families heating and hot water requirements and accurate room-by-room heat loss calculations. Heat pumps aren’t a one size fits all solution, so having detailed on and off-site discussions before starting the project helps to ensure the system is correctly designed to deliver comfort, efficiency and reliability.
